Georgia Peach/Atlanta, Georgia

A traditional 1920s home in Georgia boasts an unexpected interior that is sleek and modern. The minimalist design of  Barabara Hill, coupled with the classic architecture of the home create a perfect eclectic balance of old and new.

The interior of this Mediterranean style home was dark and heavily ornamented which makes this modern transformation even more remarkable.

The white backdrop creates the perfect environment for the sleek furniture choices and fabulous modern lighting. The earth-tone palette and use of natural materials contributes to the feeling of warmth when you enter the house.

Keeping the wood trim on windows and doors with a bold finish accentuates the original archictectural elements of this Mediterranean style home.

Consistent with the rest of the home the kitchen effectively combines modern and classic elements. The simplistic style of the cabinetry and sleek stainless steel island are coupled with traditional marble subway tiles and a farm-sink . I love how the top cabinet door is arched with glass mirroring the shape of the doorways.

I love the dark wood/ white wall contrast throughout! Gorgeous! And, not at all what I expected from the outside. Thanks

That was exactly why I featured the tour Suzi, a totally unexpected modern interior. The dark wood adds so much character I love that to. Thanks for stopping by & Happy New Year!
