September 22 nd is the official first day of fall and I can’t wait to start decorating my front entryway. This is my favorite season; welcoming the rich bold reds and oranges of the leaves that are changing, apple and pumpkin picking, sweater shopping, decorating for Halloween and celebrating all that we are Thankful for with family and friends. What could be better?

From now until Thanksgiving I will post a ”Fall Feature” a couple times a week in addition to my regular posts and columns. Hoping to inspire you to adore this season as much as I do and help you celebrate fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Mums are a must when decorating front door steps, this one is just fabulous. A vintage wagon filled with pumpkins and hay creates the perfect setting. While a festive welcome is created by pinning old keys onto subtly toned pumpkins.

Here are some fabulous entryways to help get you inspired for the season. Hitting your local garden center is another great way to get started, they have been ready long before us. Don’t be afraid of mixing the mum colors, its the fall anything goes, just look at the trees. Selecting all of the same color mums like below is also an option and creates a dramatic entry with the pop of white from the pumpkins. Happy decorating!
