Decorating the inside of my house this week for Halloween I was craving a piece of nostalgic Halloween. I grew up in the 70′s-80′s, a time where groovy lava lamps, Rubick’s Cube, smiley face stickers, and pet rocks all captured our imaginations during this decade. The two things I remember most about our holiday decor are; these plastic, light up decorations (we didn’t have the owl) and the boxes that my Halloween costume came in, for some reason I just loved the boxes. I decided to poke around some local antique stores and found the pumpkin on the far left to add to my collection. My brother has the original one from our childhood but this one is in much better shape.
Above are some vintage costumes from the 70′s in those fabulous boxes, not sure what I was thinking back then. Wizard Of Oz, just the perfect complement to Halloween.
I love this display of vintage Halloween and had to share it. Not all from my beloved 70′s and not all Halloween but just fabulous & fun! I hope you enjoy decorating for Halloween and find something from your childhood to incorporate into the mix. Halloween is not just for the kids you know!
