Small Bathroom Blues to Bliss

Q. I want to renew my bathroom but is very small I need some ideas. I like everything plain; more white, we have jacuzzi now but we want a regular shower, I don’t know what to do? Ayda

A. I am so excited to hear that you are willing to give up the tub for a shower. Often my clients want to do this because it fits their life-style better but they are worried about re-sale of their home. Designing your bathroom to fit your families needs should be foremost  in a small space. Designer tip; selecting the proper size vanity is key, I use my kitchen cabinet vendor to create a vanity in the exact scale and style I need. Companies like Bathrooms 365  have fixtures and vanities. Above, a mirrored wall gives a small space nice depth. Design a functional vanity area, if you prefer a pedestal style sink a glass shelf and medicine cabinet can offer some storage. Left, a  tub with a partial glass enclosure for showering is functional yet  not overpowering.

Keeping things light and simple using hues of white will also add to the illusion of space so it is a good thing white is your first choice. Please let me know how it turns out! Have you had the small bathroom blues before dear readers?

Glass shower enclosures can be so pretty.

The contrast of the dark wooden plank floor in this white bathroom really gives it a unique look.

I like the floors to Connie, they are unexpected and lovely.

I really like the idea of removing the tub, I was worried that would lower the house value.

I like to design for the people living in the home and make it functional for your lifestyle.

Hi Cathy, can you tell me where I can find the beautiful white marble floor with the green dots?

  • Cathy from Adore Your Place

Hi Missy great to meet you, it is a porcelain tile that looks like a Carera marble and then an accent tile cut in. Any good tile store can find it :)
