Christmas is one of my absolute favorite times of the year. During this crazy busy season I always try to remember my favorite things; memories and traditions from my childhood combined with the new experiences my family shares. Take time this season to enjoy some of your favorite things or try some of our favorites. Horse Drawn Carriage Rides in New York City. We like to pick up the carriage near Central Park so we can skate first at Wollman Skating Rink. If skating isn’t your thing take a free guided tour through Central Park, this is a great find.
Trees on Cars. Seeing Christmas trees on cars making their way home. I can just feel the warmth and love of Christmas peeking inside at a happy family or sweet couple in love as they drive home.
Writing the Christmas List. In our house writing letters to Santa is still a favorite. My three year old pointed to pictures from flyers, we cut the pictures out, he did the gluing (he is a master at the glue stick) and then he put his artistic stamp on the letter with his fabulous drawings. My teenagers created lists on the internet with links back to each item, wow that makes Santas’ job a breeze!
Baking cookies, cookies & more cookies. We love making sugar cookies and decorating them with royal icing. We bake about four dozen, package them up pretty to share with friends and family, and of course enjoy eating them all season (we even freeze them). This no fail recipe from Munchkin Munchies is a real favorite.
Waiting for Santa. Believing in the Magic of Christmas. I still Believe!
Bottle brush trees and tiny paper houses. I love decorating with these retro chic bottle brush trees and tiny houses. I know they are not for everyone but there is something about them that makes me feel happy. Below, is there anything more beautiful than twinkling lights at Christmas and the warm glow they give?
Time spent together. By the fire chatting after a long day, family gatherings, open houses and just the simple pleasure of spreading the love this season holds. Oh yeah, I forgot warm woolen socks. Happy Holidays.
