My obsession with Estate Sales has its advantages this time of year. I am on the hunt weekly helping my daughter Cathy find what she needs for her clients but in addition I cannot pass up a bargain. One of my favorite bargains to collect throughout the year is ribbon and wrapping supplies. We are all feeling the pressure this weekend to get our gifts wrapped and ready to give. I am so thankful that I collect these interesting supplies all year-long, you should try it.
This weeks Friday Find is a very unusual style of metallic ribbon. Years ago, confetti was punched out from rolls of solid ribbon and the remainder was tossed away. A factory worker came up with the idea to re-use the discarded ribbon to use it for bows. Green before green was in vogue, simple and economical. Red shiny metallic ribbon with holes punched out that could be used for large packages, wreaths or outdoor decoration. This ribbon is so interesting, people always notice its unique character. If you aren’t up for the hunt and need a fabulous bow I found some nice options here at A Bow for Mamas Esty shop.
Below, my DIY ribbon station is easily created. This was an old shelf with coat hangers attached. I decided not to remove the coat hangers and rather use them to support the pole to make it super easy. Use a curtain rod, left over pole from a closet or even a broom handle. Slide the ribbon on and lay it across the hooks (the ribbon will sit in between the hangers) and voila!
