Now that the holidays are over my phone is ringing off the hook for new construction projects. It is the perfect time to start planning your renovations or additions, hiring architects, designers, obtaining bids from builders and then filing permits. It sounds like a lot but it it’s really just a process and at the end of the day my clients always tell me that they barely remember what they had to endure because they are so happy (kind of like child birth LOL). I started thinking about my own house and that list of projects I have to tackle ugg, which lead me to wanting to find my dream house. Not an easy task for an interior designer, we are exposed to dream homes and beautiful things everyday but, while searching for custom shutters for a client, I found it, my dream home, by David Small Designs.
I was searching for the perfect shutter for a client and stumbled on these, aren’t they fabulous? They complement the architecture of the home seamlessly without distracting from the natural beauty of the stone. Below, an open plan concept creates a chic modern feel with a sleek, European kitchen and monochromatic color scheme (I need that drum light in my life). Loving Lucite for this season and those fabulous windows.
The dining room is peaceful and inviting with simple window coverings and fabulous tufted dining chairs. Another spectacular drum light helps the dining area feel cozy even with the ceiling height. Further below, in the master bedroom, I am in love with the hanging fixtures over the night-stands and serene wall color j’adore.
The interior was designed by Barnard & Speziale including all ceilings, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, drapery and furniture. Just lovely, check out their site if you have a moment equally as fabulous.
So there you have it, my timeless cottage nestled in this spectacular site. Keep your eyes open for your dream home, its always fun to dream and influences from it can always be incorporated into your existing home.
