Valentines Day is right around the corner; inspired by hearts and falling in love I realized this truly is the season for PINK, one of the most fabulously feminine colors a girl ever knew and “the color of love”. Today I want to share some inspiration to infuse a touch or a bunch of PINK into your decor, from inspiration to interiors. This runway inspired color palette is just what this bright sitting area needed. Combining crisp white with a bold shade of pink and a touch of black resulting in perfect balance.
Inspiration can be found in fashion, nature, architecture, food or just about everywhere. Below, I grew up with this tree on my front lawn taking a picture of every special occasion in front of it from my christening to my prom LOL. It is the most beautiful tree boasting an array of pink hues. This living room captures the overall essence of it including the branches without overwhelming you with PINK.
I just love discovering PINK in architecture, it can be so unexpected. These salmon colored vintage doors inspired the dining room selection, the wallcovering choice mirrors the subtle tone-on-tone background of the old door.
Fashion trends find different hues of PINK are always in style. The living room below mixes up different hues of PINK like this chic, playful outfit does for a tailored yet inviting feel.
This entryway combines a bolder tone of pink and begins to infuse a touch of coral. The inner part of the cupcake inspired me to find this shade of wallcovering, yum. Learn more about the psychological meaning of PINK here from Sensational Color.
Now let’s pump up the volume and go hot, hot pink that is. My favorite shade of PINK growing up. When you see a PINK car on the road it jumps right out and this Fiat Jolly is no exception, loving the woven seats. Adding chocolate brown to the color palette grounds the hot pink bringing depth and interest to the room.
I hope I have inspired you to consider designing with some PINK. Even my idol, Audrey Hepburn shares my love for PINK. She believed in style, elegance, philanthropy and PINK.
