High Alpine Ranch: Montana

A while back I was designing the interior of a home in the Adirondacks’s and found this image of a dining room by the talented Lisa Kanning to show my client how fabulous dark window trim can be in a lodge inspired vacation home. I became instantly obsessed with so many of the design details in this authentically Montana ranch that I had to share it with you today in our House Tour category.

A sleek modern kitchen allows the rustic warmth and fabulous views to become the design focus. Natural materials and iron are used throughout the ranch connecting the interior to the beautiful surroundings outside. A warm, neutral color palette with pops of terracotta and gold are just enough. The lighting in this home is off the charts, each fixture brings character and a wow factor to the area it is in.

The black window and door trim effectively complement the massive wood beams and natural stone in the ranch, adding to the many design details such as a leather ceiling detail, iron interior doors and stone fireplaces. I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse into authentic Montana and the work of Lisa Kanning as much as I have.
