As summer comes to a close I wanted to share a House Tour from Spain where steamy weather and the scent of the sea in the air exists for all seasons. Architect Alejandro Gimenez Ferrer has captured the essence of Andalusian design in this small town of San Roque overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar.
Andalusian design combines the influences from Andalusia, Spain with modern clean lines and natural materials. Although this is an ideal location, you can use the influences from this style in any size home or apartment.
The architecture is modern and sleek complemented by crisp white walls combined with statement pieces like this vintage bench, bold color accessories and a fabulous chandelier.
The modern kitchen works in harmony with the architecture while a traditional terra-cotta floor runs throughout the home providing a consistent flow.
Even the hearth is sleek and modern with built in benches flagging each side and a fabulous window seat.
The bedroom uses indigenous wood from the surrounding areas while woven wood storage adds texture and creates an inviting cottage feel. Notice again, the white walls and terra cotta floors remain the same throughout this home to keep the energy flowing; and with that view of the sea, who could ask for more.
