Today marks the final day of Fashion Week in NYC. My designer pick is the fabulous Mara Hoffman, I want this dress, pronto. Her line includes everything from dresses, leggings and blouses to coats, knit sweaters and scarves. She has evolved from hand-dyed silhouettes to her current collection, which concentrates heavily on original silk prints. Hoffman recurrently draws inspiration from nature and fantasy, often finding creativity from her own travels around the world.
Today I was in the mood to find that perfect little black dress. I am a huge Donna Karan fan and knew she would deliver just what I was looking for in her Spring, 2013 collection. Everything I do is a matter of heart, body and soul,” says Donna Karan, chief designer of the international company that bears her name. “For me, designing is an expression of who I am as a woman, with all the complications, feelings and emotions.”
I am in love with the Spring 2013 collection of Carlos Miele. Referred to as a master of the delicate craft and intricated detail his designs transcend the influences of his Brazilian roots reconstructing them for new audiences. The free form of the skirt coupled with the ornamentation of the belt and neckline are exquisite. Shoes!
Carmen Marc Valvo has been exploring his soul’s desire to bring glamorous dressing to women all over the world. His elegant evening wear is a staple in the marketplace and this dress from his Spring 2013 collection is one of my favorites. Combining exquisite construction and attention to detail in a brilliant blue.
Son Jung Wan, Spring 2013. Impeccably executed separates including tops, skirts, shorts, pants, and jackets as well as dresses all made from the must sumptuous fabrics. Son Jung Wan captures the dual nature of women and how they like to dress; at times pretty and feminine, and other times chic and stylish.
Spring 2013, Tadashi Shoji. His design’s reflect the utmost in luxury and elegance, the much-anticipated collection continues to receive rave reviews. I am in love with the color palette and does anyone else notice the Audrey Hepburn iconic neckline?
